Welcome to Harborview Kids Dental and Orthodontics! This is one home for children and young adults’ dental care (0~21 years), and orthodontic treatment for kids, teens, and adults. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality dental care for children at every stage of growth — from the first baby tooth to braces — we are here for your family. Our team understands that every child is unique, and anxiety to dental clinic is very common among kids, so we focus on creating a gentle, positive, and comfortable experience that helps our little patients feel safe and comfortable during their visits. By combining preventive care, education, and personalized treatment, we partner with families to support healthy smiles and build strong foundations for a lifetime of excellent oral health and confidence.

Our clinic is based in Covington WA, and has been providing dental care to families of Kent, Renton, Auburn, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Issaquah, Newcastle, Federal Way, Des Moines, Puyallup, SeaTac, Tukwila, Seattle, Burien, Edgewood, Sumner, Tacoma, etc. We love to help little ones feel safe and comfortable and have the parents to foster trust and relax. Infants

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends an infant’s first dental visit occur by age 1 or within six months of the first tooth erupting. Early, regular checkups (every 6 months) help prevent cavities, track development, and establish cleaning routines.

Toddlers

Toddler dental care should begin with a first dentist visit by age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting. Regular checkups are recommended every 6 months to monitor development and prevent decay. Early, consistent care, including brushing twice daily with a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste, is essential for healthy, cavity-free teeth.

Teens and Adults

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends children have their first check-up with an orthodontist by age 7. This initial, usually complimentary visit allows for early identification of bite, jaw, and tooth issues, often during a mix of baby and permanent teeth.

Dr. Lin is a board certified orthodontist with 10 years of clinical experience in pediatric dental clinics and orthodontic clinics. She has received favorable reviews from numerous patients and parents during her practice.

Our availability to provide both pediatric dental treatments and orthodontic treatments under one roof allows the dentist to start dental monitoring at early stages, which means timely intervention, better outcomes, fewer office visits, and continuous care. It also provides smooth and timely transition to early orthodontic intervention for children.

We see patients Saturdays and Sundays

For working parents, families with multiple children, and families with special-needs children, taking the kiddos to dentists is challenging. We understand and would like to make it as easy as possible to you. Thus we see patients on weekends and open early on weekdays (7am Thursday and Friday). We offer sibling-blocks for booking appointments, which means you only pay one visit at one location to have pediatric dental care and orthodontic treatments completed for all of your children.

Many patients who live in JBLM, Olympia, Lacey, Tacoma, and greater Seattle choose to see Dr. Lin for orthodontic treatments during weekends for light traffic and flexibility on their family schedule.

Children can receive continuous dental care from their first tooth through braces and beyond. The same team monitors your child’s growth, allowing dentists and orthodontists to detect bite or alignment issues early and plan for treatment at the ideal time. During the regular checkups for your children our orthodontists can initiate timely interceptive treatment without delay, misdiagnosis, and change of clinical site.
